Pint of Science 〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://pintofscience.com/ )〕 is a science festival that aims to communicate recent scientific developments to the general public in a fun, engaging and approachable way by bringing scientists to the pub.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22522359 )〕 In its 3rd year, the 2015 festival took place over 3 days in the evenings of the 18th, 19th and 20 May 2015 in 51 cities across 9 countries: the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, USA, Spain, Germany, Brazil and Australia. The festival covers all aspects of research and are themed under the titles 'Beautiful Mind', 'Our Body', 'Tech Me Out', 'Atoms to Galaxies', 'Planet Earth', and 'Our Society'. The festival was started in 2012 by a group of UK based postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/activities/a-to-z/781/ )〕 Festival co-founder Dr. Michael Motskin, who was a researcher at Imperial College London, was concerned by the way science was being presented on TV and in science magazines, often without the involvement of scientists themselves. With the help of co-founder Dr. Praveen Paul, another researcher at Imperial College London, they decided to bring scientists out of their laboratories to explain their ground-breaking work to people interested in science and in beer.
